Remember the post about my ceiling?
Well here is the framed ceiling- took 5 hours on Wednesday (last week).

Here is the drywalled ceiling that took about 8 hours to put up, tape and mud on Thursday. It was textured Friday afternoon.

Here is the mess it made-- through my whole house and (because of that little crack under that big door) my mom's house too.

Here it is painted a lovely shade of blue, which took a few hours by my painter husband on Saturday and the corner TV cabinet my carpenter brother is building on Tuesday. Notice the new mess on the floor, this time sawdust and we taped the crack under the door. We don't usually do the same mistake twice- although it didn't help because I failed to shut off the heat and see that nice little air return under that cabinet, it just sucked it up and spit it out throughout the whole house again. But they say the third times the charm- really. So what if we have to wash all the Thanksgiving table dishes that were already set for dinner, again.

The beautiful finished cabinet that just needs painted. (Tuesday)
The almost finished product, I should mention this is TODAY and I've mopped the floor 6 times!
Notice that white cabinet in the corner in the next picture? It was Kenzie's dresser and my armoir. My dear husband cut off the legs of the armoir and put it on top of the dresser making a much more substantial piece.
All that is left besides painting all the trim is getting a curtain rod to properly hang up those curtains- oh and hem them! ;) And find a place for the old coffee table that is now behind the couch.
I even hung wall words in my spare time.
Now I'm off to cook, and mop all the other rooms, and wash dishes, and mop again, and make Pumpkin Tarts, and set the kids table, and mop again, and...!
I'm so thankful for my brother, Michael and Tommy (drywaller) and Travis for helping me get it all done by Thanksgiving.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
